The Jersey Shore Page 1
We had no idea what to expect when we walked into the Metropolitan Pavilion South this afternoon for the debut of Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola‘s activewear collection for SXE Fitness. Would the rest of the Jersey Shore cast be in attendance? Would MTV film the show for an episode? Was there going to be a fight? So many questions!
Since CATWALK JUSTICE devoted last week’s entire column to the Louboutin v. YSL case, there’s quite a bit of fashion law news to catch up on. Much of it, however, seems oddly familiar. There seem to be three lessons to take from this week’s events: 1) fashion law history is doomed to repeat itself; 2) where you can’t sue to get what you want, at least try going the contract route (even if it’s likely to fail, you may get publicity for a ridiculous offer); 3) and models (or in some cases, their parents) are a lot tougher than they look — at least, in the courtroom.
Circa last night’s airing of The Late Show with David Letterman, Snooki has officially restored her famed hairdo to its proper place. But will it stay there?
We thought until recently that GQ could do no wrong, but now that the magazine is giving workout makeovers to the guys from The Jersey Shore, we know we made that judgment too quickly.
The thing we love most about Jenni ‘Jwoww’ Farley is that we can always rely on her to be honest and candid about what she thinks, no matter who she’s representing herself to. So it’s only natural that, when she was filling out an application to be on a reality based show (this was before she hit it big with The Jersey Shore), her answers to its questions would come straight from the heart.
Happy Monday! Though weekends are — for obvious reasons — always pretty awesome, this past one was bumped up a notch or two by the absolutely side-splittingly hilarious Sunday Styles profile of Snooki by New York Times fashion critic extraordinaire, Cathy Horyn. Step by methodical step, Horyn rips Snooki to metaphorical shreds.
Ever wonder how long it takes fashion designers like J-Woww to get ready? We never have, either, but here’s the answer anyway.
Last night, the cast of the Jersey Shore dropped by Lopez Tonight, where fellow guest Kathy Griffin challenged them to a game of “I Never.” While the ensuing admissions were certainly enlightening — The Situation hooked up with Kathy? — it was Snooki’s vajazzling confession that caught our ears.
On Saturday, Jersey Shore castmember Jenni “J-Woww” Farley debuted her clothing line at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas. Considering the line is called Filthy Couture, the amount of lace, feathers, and rhinestones used in the collection should come as no surprise to anyone.
They say you can’t know where you’re going until you realize where you’ve been. With that in mind, we’re taking a glance back. The past week has been a roller coaster of fashion news and events — and luckily, we were there to catch the good, the bad and the ugly.
