M.I.A. Tries to Set the Times Story Straight
As promised via Twitter last week, M.I.A. has posted clips of her interview with The New York Times Magazine‘s Lynn Hirschberg. If you’ll remember, the artist didn’t take too kindly to Hirschberg’s depiction of her in a profile published last week. But instead of the long transcripts vindicating the artist we expected to see, we got two short audio clips, the first of which only proves that Hirschberg really wanted some truffle-flavored french fries.
How Hirschberg’s Public Battle With M.I.A. Could Help W
Lynn Hirschberg is leaving The New York Times Magazine (for W!) with a bang. Her last contracted piece for the magazine is a profile of Grammy-nominated rapper M.I.A. that went online this week. And if M.I.A.’s tweet on the matter is any indication, she didn’t like the piece very much at all — and the ensuing controversy could prove very valuable for W.
