The best outfits we came across this week were on real, live people playing themselves. (Is that cheating?). When asked if he had any contributions to the dressing list, one sartorial standout in our office replied, “all I saw this week was a woman on last night’s Bar Rescue rerun wearing early 2000s stonewashed flared jeans. FLARED! *vom* :(“. Sad-face, indeed. Without stooping to the barf-inducing aughts-era rerun fashion, this is what we’ve scrounged together for the best of the week.
Scene: It’s Hollywood. 1989. There are no viral workout sensations. Just at-home aerobics videos and American Gladiators. No YouTube. Just a woman, some ankle weights, and a dream.
Did you turn on your TV screen Wednesday? If so, you probably saw Kristen Stewart. The actress certainly was a busy girl yesterday, hitting the sets of not one, not two, but three separate talk shows. This, just days after she was chatting up Jay Leno on our small screens and exchanging glances with Robert Pattinson on MTV. You’d think she had a movie to promote or something!
The Today Show enlisted the help of Karlie Kloss for Friday’s segment on fall’s hottest fashion trends. And why not? Kloss has been flexing her on-camera muscle hosting MTV’s House Of Style, walked plenty of major shows for fall 2012 (albeit only in Paris), and, at age 20, has already achieved veritable supermodel status (and we, unlike most, don’t use that term lightly).
Kate White stepped down as the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan this month after 14 years, and one of the things that she’s focusing on now is her new book “I Shouldn’t Be Telling You This: Success Secrets Every Gutsy Girl Should Know”. She made an appearance on TODAY, speaking with Savannah Guthrie about leaving the mag and offering bits of advice from her book.
This morning, former Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin appeared on the Today show to tell her side of the Miss USA controversy.
Cassandra Bankson‘s amazing acne makeup tutorial has racked up over 6 million views on YouTube, and we were lucky enough to chat with the 19-year-old earlier this week. Now she’s officially hit the big time with an appearance on The Today Show.
It’s not even summer yet, but the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue will be brightening up newsstands everywhere in just a few weeks. The cover was unveiled to the world late Monday on The Late Show with Dave Letterman, and cover girl Kate Upton discussed her meteoritic rise to fame this morning on The Today Show.
You may have paged through every last piece in the Jason Wu for Target lookbook, but there’s nothing like seeing the clothing fit and move on a real, live model. Wu joined Ann Curry and Cindi Leive on the Today Show this morning to show off a few of his outfits from his highly anticipated collection.
There’s nothing we love more than awesome custom clothing (the Angry Birds gown, anyone?) so we were surprised and delighted this morning when Ann Curry commemorated The Today Show‘s 60th anniversary by wearing a custom-made dress inspired by its logo.
Great fashion moments aren’t just relegated to great fashion people. 2011 was the year newscasters provided us with some of our favorite fashion moments — from excellent style choices to fun interviews to downright hysterical coverage.
We’re big fans of giving books as holiday presents, and apparently so are Mindy Kaling and Bill Clinton. We know this because they hung out (TOGETHER!) at The Today Show this morning.
When we first saw Justin Bieber performing hits from his holiday-themed Under The Mistletoe album on the Today show this morning, we couldn’t take our eyes off his christmas sweater-meets-varsity jacket attire. And then we realized it wasn’t just any ordinary christmas sweater-meets-varsity jacket, it was a $1,650 one by Junya Watanabe.
One Pucci dress, two very different ladies. Who looked best? You decide! (Though let’s be real, it shouldn’t be too hard.)
And the “Our Favorite Olsen” competition continues! Today Elizabeth Olsen appeared on The Today Show, and we must say she’s edging her way to the top of the list.
When it comes to singers with wacky style, the first name that comes to mind is Lady Gaga and the second is Rihanna. In a stroke of holiday weekend luck, the pop stars performed on dueling morning shows today. Which pantsless lady looked finest? That’s up to you to decide.
55-year-old Cindy Jackson has gone under the knife a total of 52 times in 23 years, making her the woman with the most plastic surgery in the world. This morning, she sat down with Hoda Kotb and Kathy Lee Gifford to talk about her quest for aesthetic perfection and, in a surprising turn of events, she may just make the best case for plastic surgery we’ve ever heard.
Dov Charney accuser Irene Morales went on The Today Show this morning to discuss her sexual abuse case that is currently on hold. Morales is seeking $250 million in damages from the American Apparel head honcho, who she claims psychologically and sexually abused her as teenager.
Princess Diana’s wedding dress dropped by the Today Show this morning as part of its continuous world tour, bringing with it several handlers, yards of red carpet, and its original designers David Emanuel and his wife Elizabeth. And while the dress is certainly a sight to behold, we were most interested to hear how the Emanuels managed to keep designing the thing a secret.
We think Michelle Obama has a pretty cool attitude when it comes to her style choices — she simply wears what she likes. Sometimes she feels like rocking a gorgeous Alexander McQueen ball gown, and sometimes she wants to sport a $34.95 dress from H&M. Yesterday she chose the latter.
