Toddlers & Tiaras Page 1
Toddlers & Tiaras is easily one of the most eyebrow-raising shows on the air right now, and most of the time we wonder why we still watch it. Then we remember: it’s because it’s filled with laughable, borderline unbelievable storylines like this pageant mother who forces her three-year-old daughter to stay inside for fear of darkening her ”natural, golden skin tone”.
Toddlers & Tiaras has stooped to yet another low. However could that be possible, you ask? Well, a leather-clad four-year-old named Destiny strutted the pageant stage last night, all the while puffing away on a kid-sized cigarette.
You may remember Madisyn “Maddy” Verst from her turn as a four-year-old Dolly Parton in Toddlers & Tiaras last year, in a costume complete with fake breasts and a padded butt. Well, the pageant mom that put her in the controversial outfit is making headlines again, this time because her ex-husband Bill Verst is suing her for custody of their daughter.
It’s moments like these that make us completely forget that TLC actually stands for “The Learning Channel”.
Alana Thompson — who you probably know as “Honey Boo Boo Child” — is getting her own TV show.
You can sleep easy tonight. Reality television’s most infamous toddler-based feud has finally ended.
There’s nothing like watching a 15-year-old get morally and viscerally outraged about beauty pageants, but the best line comes from one preternaturally savvy teen, in response to the interviewer asking if Toddlers & Tiaras should even be on the air. “Yeah,” she responds. “Because it shows parents how not to act.”
Alana “Honey Boo Boo Child” Thompson and her mother June have been on a media tour of epic proportions ever since they first appeared on Toddlers and Tiaras. But today’s episode of Anderson, which was devoted to four well known pageant moms from the show, June and some of the other mothers tried to make it seem OK that they were spending gobs of money on getting their daughters ready for pageants and not on other life-enhancing things.
How we love it when the tables get turned! On Friday’s episode of Anderson, a few moms from Toddlers and Tiaras will get makeovers to look like supersized versions of their competing daughters — and they’ll get a taste of their own medicine in the process.
Perhaps in an attempt to strike while the iron is hot, or perhaps because her mother is a glutton for media punishment, Toddlers & Tiaras star Alana “Honey Boo Boo Child” Thompson made an appearance on Good Morning America today to defend her Go-Go Juice habit.
Everyone’s favorite Go Go Juice guzzling, Toddlers & Tiaras star, Alana, was on Dr. Drew’s Lifechangers show yesterday (where else!), which means we have no shortage of Honey Boo Boo Child monologues and energy-drink antics to share with you today.
Don’t mess with hypocritical pageant moms. The mother of the very same Toddlers And Tiaras contestant who called one of her opponents a hooker has filed a libel suit a number of news outlets for sexualizing her daughter in their coverage.
If you didn’t see Alana, the Toddlers And Tiaras star known round the Internet for calling everyone and everything “honey boo boo child” on Dr. Drew last week, then we feel sorry for you. But we do have something that will make up for your loss: video of Alana getting ready to go on air with the TV psychiatrist. Ka-ching!
Of all the Toddlers & Tiaras contestants we’ve seen (and we’ve seen a lot), 6-year-old Alana is easily the most terrifying.
What is up with today? First Derek Lam decides to sue Ivanka Trump, then a congressman criticizes the size of First Lady Michelle Obama’s rear, and now a 5-year-old pageant queen and star of TLC reality show Toddlers & Tiaras has called a rival 3-year-old “a hooker”.
Remember that episode of Toddlers and Tiaras from a few months ago where one of the mothers dressed her 3-year-old as Julia Roberts lovable hooker character in Pretty Woman? Months later, she still can’t believe how much flak she got, and went on national television this week to clarify that the costume was just that: a costume.
It’s sad when you think about how long it’s been since Little Miss Eden Wood of Toddlers and Tiaras has gone without wearing makeup — and even sadder when you remember that she’s just 6 years old. But all of that is made funny in this new video, where she and other child stars visit a childlike child psychologist.
We thought we were doing a good job of making fun of Toddlers & Tiaras, but our righteous indignation about the TLC show pales in comparison to this parody, in which lost but not forgotten Disney lady Ashley Tisdale shows us what lies ahead for the pageant contestants.
If the models at New York Fashion Week have to pass an age requirement, shouldn’t its attendees have to follow one, too? Six-year-old beauty queen Eden Wood of Toddler’s and Tiaras fame lit up a runway in New York City by, well, basically doing more of the same thing she’s known for having done on television.
We know, we know — we can’t expect any of the pageant moms who agree to appear on Toddlers and Tiaras to be great people. But we’re classic humanists here in the Styleite office, so we have to believe there’s a kernel of good in everyone. Last night’s episode sort of proved that wrong.
