After telling the USA Today that this year’s Punk: Chaos to Couture Met Gala was “so un-fun”, and complaining that she “did not enjoy it at all”, Gwyneth Paltrow has sent a ‘look how much fun my life is’ newsletter to her GOOP fans, complete with Instagram-like snaps of her prepping for the evening.
What do Miley Cyrus, Lena Dunham, Gwyneth Paltrow, and these two unlucky partygoers have in common? No, we’re not talking about internet haters. We’re talking about Valentino‘s strapless bow back jumpsuit, which which the salespeople at Saks Fifth Avenue seem have gotten very good at getting into the hands (and closets) of celebs.
We’ve heard of Terry Richardson getting handsy during photo shoots but this is something else.
Basking under the Italian sun in gauzy Valentino couture sounds pretty heavenly right about now, doesn’t it? Alas, we’re sitting inside on a frigid New York Monday, so we’ll have to settle for living vicariously through Freja Beha Erichsen for now.
Last night, Eva Mendes fulfilled her duties as the new spokesperson for Vogue Eyewear by showing up at a launch party in Beverly Hills. While she didn’t wear cool specs for the step-and-repeat (though she donned a pair afterward), she did wear a pretty Valentino frock! But is the dress too cute for the actress? You decide.
If you take the tabloid rumor mill at their word, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux should be getting married any week now, since Aniston’s new comedy is finally set to wrap filming in Connecticut tomorrow. Which of course must mean that the actress’ dress is being sewn, embroidered, fitted, and finished as we speak. But who is the lucky designer?
It doesn’t get much prettier than Valentino‘s fall show, which walked earlier today in Paris. The house has a reputation for producing dreamy, romantic collections season after season, but their outing for fall felt like one of their strongest yet. It wasn’t easy, but we’ve narrowed down the show to our top ten looks (plus one especially covetable accessory).
There’s no better way to start this lovely Tuesday than with a livestream of the Valentino fall 2013 runway show at 8:30 AM EST. And lucky for you, dear reader, we’ve got a front row seat with your name on it right here.
We were seriously hoping for Anne Hathaway to wow us in a custom Valentino creation at the Oscars after getting confirmation from the house itself. But, as the story goes, she wore Prada. It was a particularly rude sartorial snub since Valentino Garavani himself designed a gorgeous wedding gown for the Les Mis star, and she hung out with him on New Year’s Eve. Hathaway has been quiet about the matter, and we ourselves have concocted a good number of explanations, but now the actress has released an official statement on the snafu.
Fragrance reviews are silly, but sometimes, fragrance marketing is even sillier. What do “playful pastimes” and “nostalgia” really smell like? So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our own fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest sample to land on our desk. This week, we’re sniffing Valentino Assoluto.
Set an alarm and take your lunch at noon on the dot today, guys, because we’ll be checking into the livestream of Valentino‘s couture show. Catch all the action from Paris at 12 PM EST/6 PM CET right here.
Listen, when you’re Valentino, you can do whatever you want. Like, for example, play music obnoxiously loud on New year’s Eve — and get away with it.
Times Square on New Year’s Eve? Pft, not for Madonna and
Fantine Anne Hathaway.
When Mr. Valentino hosts a party, everyone and their mother shows up. Case in point: at last night’s Valentino: Master of Couture exhibit preview at Somerset House in London, Duchess Sarah Ferguson showed up with Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie in tow.
Valentino is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but rather than dwell on the past (glamorous though it undoubtedly is) the brand is looking ahead to bigger and better things.
For those of you not content with the single, slightly blurry shot of Anne Hathaway‘s breathtaking wedding gown, Valentino has heard your prayers!
Anne Hathaway‘s had a busy year promoting The Dark Knight Rises and filming Les Miserables. Oh yeah, and the 29-year-old has also been planning her wedding to fellow actor Adam Shulman. The two were engaged in November, and the deets about the big day have been little to none. But now, we know the most important tidbit of all — her wedding dress designer!
It’s only fitting that the opening of a ballet whose costumes were designed by none other than the legendary Valentino Garavani would have a red carpet just as glamorous as the ensembles on stage.
Back in June, we reported that Valentino Garavani would design costumes for the New York City Ballet‘s Fall Gala (which is tonight!), but only got one measly glimpse at the costumes. Well, now, we’ve got more!
