Vanessa Hudgens Page 1
We don’t expect that getting naked in front of a cast and crew on a movie set is the easiest thing to do, especially when you’re a Disney star about to film a three-way with James Franco. But Vanessa Hudgens made it sound like near-torture last night when she dropped by Jimmy Kimmel Live.
It’s March 15 and you know what that means? It’s Spring Breakers day here in New York! But before you slam your laptop closed and run out to your nearest theater, take a gander at what the rather eclectic group of stars wore last night to fête the film in Los Angeles.
The first weekend of Coachella is already over, and even though we’re still depressed that we couldn’t jet to California, we can still check out the fashion in all its fringe-y, crop-y, super layered glory from the comforts of our office.
The first and last time we ever purchased a pair of Candies, Jenny McCarthy was their spokesperson. But they’re alive and kicking and after moving on from Britney Spears (who famously leaked unretouched photos of her own campaign) and Fergie, the brand has just shown Vanessa Hudgens and replaced her with the slightly more family friendly Lea Michele.
Let’s be clear: this isn’t a worst dressed list. It’s a list that falls somewhere between What Were They Thinking When They Put That On? and That Dress Was Perfect Until…. Jennifer Lawrence, for example, can be found under the former, while Miley Cyrus, whose deep-v, off-white cocktail number features neon side panels and a mesh, mulleted skirt, is most definitely the latter.
From Anne Hathaway‘s Academy Award tux to fresh-faced Hailee Steinfeld‘s embellished suit, it seems like women just can’t get enough menswear.
Coachella is all about music, obviously, but it’s also all about FASHION. The festival is a veritable celeb playground, crawling with actors and musicians and reality stars all in their weekend-in-the-desert best.
Jeremy Scott is probably our favorite show of every season — it’s tied with Ralph Lauren for almost diametrically opposite reasons — because it’s just so darn fun. If the rest of fashion week is a glorified trade show, Scott’s runway presentations are like downtown art parties on ecstasy or, in the case of this season, ecstasy and LSD. We’ll explain.
How many bold-faced names can you fit into one runway presentation? If you’re Sophia Kokosalaki, lots. And we mean lots.
While we at Styleite understand and appreciate all sorts of trends and styles, even when they don’t necessarily match up with our own personal taste, there are still some celebrities we hope stay as far away from fashion as possible. Just because you can act, or sing, or pick a stylist who dresses you well when you walk the red carpet does not give you the right to call yourself a designer.
Now, we have our bets as to whose talent is more lasting, but who, we ask, has the better style? Harry Potter fans and High School Musical fans rejoice! It’s time to vote in this installment of Fashion Wars: Emma Watson vs. Vanessa Hudgens.
She dazzled us on the Kids’ Choice Awards “Orange Carpet” and makes tweens across the world scream at the very mention of her name. Selena Gomez’s success can be measured by many of her Disney counterparts’ successes — Miley, Hilary, Demi, Vanessa. Their names translate into many things, among them sparkly lip glosses packaged with their respective brands and, of course, dollar signs.
