Bad news, ladies: John Legend is officially married. Yesterday the singer finally married model-turned-bizarre-bikini-designer Chrissy Teigen after two years of engagement.
We tried and failed to find some gifts for Kate Middleton and her royal spawn, but when you’re a designer it’s easier: You can just sketch them into existence.
Fragrance reviews are silly, but sometimes, fragrance marketing is even sillier. What do “playful pastimes” and “nostalgia” really smell like? So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our own fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest sample to land on our desk. This week, we’re testing out Be Jeweled by Vera Wang.
With all of the tweets, press releases, Best Dressed lists, and deluges of photographs after a red carpet event, it can be easy to forget all of the work that went in to a dress once it retreats from in front of the flashbulbs. Sure, we get more behind-the-scenes access than ever before with celebrities’ pre-show Instagrams and Twitpics, but the fittings, sewing, sketching, and frantic emailing is inevitably eclipsed by the big moment of the girl and the gown. It’s even further eclipsed when the gown doesn’t see the light of day, and when this happens, says Vera Wang, it is “devastating”.
Vera Wang is known for her year-round uniform of black leggings and white t-shirt, but when she does break from the norm and go black tie, she does it so, so well. What else do you expect from someone who designs confections like these for a living?
The fashion set stepped out in style at last night’s Vanity Fair party for the Tribeca Film Festival. Vera Wang, Rachel Roy, Karolina Kurkova, and more were decked out in menswear-inspired ensembles that were actually quite sexy and feminine, while Tory Burch and Tao Okamoto brought a dash of color and prints.
Vera Wang has been under fire recently for the nearly $500 fee to try on her wedding gowns. So much, in fact, that her team finally pulled the ridiculous charge.
Even on a rainy Tuesday night, we’re more than willing to make the trek up to 92nd street to take in another installment of the 92Y‘s “Fashion Icons with Fern Mallis” series. So far, we’ve heard Tom Ford tell us about meeting the love of his life, Michael Kors have everyone in stitches over childhood anecdotes, and Diane von Furstenberg spout inspirational aphorisms. Last night it was Vera Wang‘s turn to bring the spotlight onto her own success story.
You heard it here first, kids: Cheetos are the hottest trend this season.
Last week we brought you heaps of glorious photos of models’ nuptials, so this week we figured it was the designers’ turn! These ceremonies run the gamut from Michael Kors‘ relaxed beachside vows (he and hubby Lance LePere went to see The Help after they said “I Do”) to Victoria Beckham‘s high-profile nineties extravaganza (more than 500 guests watched her walk the aisle in a Vera Wang gown with a 20-foot train).
Do you know which pair of designers have a vacation home with an 18k gold guest room? How about who boards a $60 million yacht when he needs to take a break his ten other homes around the world? Or whose NYC townhouse used to house twelve separate apartments? Find out all this and more in our ultimate guide to the over-the-top real estate of our favorite fashion designers…the only thing that remains to be asked now is “When can we move in?”
Well, we suppose this was inevitable. Just days after we get word that Vera Wang is separating from husband of 23 years Arthur Becker, rumors have begun to swirl that Wang may be harboring a younger paramour in her Beverly Hills mansion.
Vera Wang and Arthur Becker have announced their split after 23 years of marriage.
What girl doesn’t want to feel like a princess? And who doesn’t yearn to one day wear Vera Wang?
It’s Memorial Day weekend, which means the dog days of summer are almost upon us! Let’s ring in the season with some very fashionable pooches.
Unsurprisingly, pink was the dress code color of the evening at last night’s Hot Pink Party hosted by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Except, you know, this time the swan is on her head.
Now we understand why women fawn over Vera Wang‘s gowns — the effects are simply unbelievable.
We already love her for her luxuriously feminine confections, so we’re guessing it won’t be too hard to fall for Vera Wang’s first color cosmetics line, which she’ll be debuting exclusively for Kohl’s.
The Obamas sure know how to turn it out for a black tie affair.
