Last night the Lexington Avenue Armory, the venue that usually plays host to blockbuster fashion shows like Marc Jacobs and Victoria’s Secret, was transformed into a night club by Versace’s leather-clad denizens for the launch of the newly-revamped Versus line. The event showcased J.W. Anderson’s capsule collection for the house, along with the stable of “seasonless” looks inspired by iconic pieces of decades past. See it all here in its cropped, slashed, gender-bending glory, plus get a look at some of the unlikely attendees.
Ok, not to brag or anything, but we totally called the collection that Khaleesi would wear off the runway. Yesterday, Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to talk about what it’s like to play the mother of the dragons, and chose a sandy yellow dress from Versace’s spring 2013 collection – the very same one we paired with her character Daenerys Targaryen in Friday’s GOT fashion roundup. Watch the clip to hear the actress riff with the host about CGI dragons, fan run-ins, and whether she ever gets to wear her white blonde wig out in public.
We hope you’re ready for a show, folks, because Donatella Versace‘s wares are never made for wallflowers.
Baby, it’s cold outside, but Versace‘s spring ads are hot.
Versace‘s diffusion label Versus is going to look very different going forward. WWD reports that the Italian line is in the midst of a major strategy shift that has been in the works since “before summer.” Here’s what is going to change.
Mother Monster totally took us by surprise with a recent appearance in the Versace safety pin dress that Elizabeth Hurley made famous back in 1994. So we’ve gotta ask: who wore it best?
The late Gianni Versace used to show his couture collection at the Ritz Hotel in Paris. His sis Donatella continued the tradition until 2004, and this weekend, she finally returned to Gianni’s favorite spot. As such, we wanted to take a look back at Gianni’s Atelier Versace creations.
Fragrance reviews are silly. Fragrance marketing is even sillier. So from now on, we’ll be crowdsourcing our fragrance reviews. Read on to find out what our office thought about the latest scent to land on our desk: Versace Yellow Diamond.
We hate to be those people, especially so early on a Saturday, but when we were going through photos of Versace‘s fall runway show, we couldn’t help but notice that a couple dresses looked more primed for yoga than the catwalk.
There’s been no sign of Lady Gaga on the Grammy Awards red carpet, which perhaps worked out well for Nicki Minaj, who arrived in a red cloak by Versace with a fake pope on her arm.
How high is too high? When it comes to dress slits, it’s safe to say hipbone-grazing is just TOO HIGH.
Not only is Versace entering the fancy kids’ clothing arena with Young Versace, its ad campaign stars some serious supermodel spawn.
If you were one of the unfortunate few who walked out of the Versace for H&M sale last month empty handed, you just might be in luck. Enough people have returned pieces of the collection to H&M that some stores actually have small sections of the stuff waiting for people to snatch it up.
Anyone betting Tom Ford would design H&M‘s next designer collaboration is going to lose. Word has it that Donatella Versace enjoyed working with H&M so much the first time around that she’s designed a pre-spring collection that will go on sale early next year. And this time, there’ll be no pesky lines or shoving involved.
We knew that the US launch of Versace for H&M would cause a lot of hysteria (and possibly some brawling), but we didn’t anticipate that the collection’s male enthusiasts would literally be muscling the clothes out of other people hands.
H&M’s public relations department has already responded to this morning’s New York Daily News article alleging that Donatella Versace would “likely not approve shooting the [Versace for H&M collection] on real women.”
