We guess touring with Jay-Z this summer is a smidge more appealing than burying himself in patterns, Target launches, and other woes of the hard knock fashion designer’s life. Or, maybe he just wants to sport not William Rast suits and ties without feeling like a traitor.

Of all of the mass retail chains, Target‘s sartorial offerings have always been the most stylish. With collections from top designers and, in general, a more fashion-savvy sensibility, the store has always been a source of good, cheap clothes. But starting this Friday, Target will up its fashion ante (and its price points). WWD reports that by the end of the week, pieces from the store’s Go International collection will be on sale at Gilt, the high-end, members-only online sample sale.

Since reaching out to British designer Luella Bartley for its first limited collaboration line in 2006, Target has kept a firm grip on the pulse of the fashion world.  And now WWD is reporting that the next collection on the menu is with none other than William Rast – proving  that Target still knows how to win the love of the frugal fashionistas.
