We normally don’t see much harm in two celebrities wearing the same dress, but when the dress is Chanel, the first wearer is Blake Lively, and the setting is Chanel’s Spring 2011 show, one can’t help but wonder what Chanel’s PR department was thinking when they let Alexa Chung wear it earlier today.
While Lively paired hers with nude Louboutin pumps and a summery ponytail, Chung opted for flat loafers and her signature disheveled bob.
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Chanel has lent the same dress to several stars. In 2006, Reese Witherspoon wore a white and gold knee-length frock to the Golden Globes — three years after Kirsten Dunst wore it to the same event. That very same event, Natalie Portman walked the red carpet in a black lace vintage Chanel number which Debra Messing wore to the 2001 Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards — a dress which Kirsten Dunst also wore in Spiderman 2.
