You know what they say about a man in uniform — well, the same can now officially be said for women. A tidbit in the New York Post this morning highlighted the fact that designer Donna Karan and former model Christie Brinkley showed up to the same Hamptons soiree wearing the same dress. What the Post failed to highlight was the fact that Karan has been wearing the same dress all summer.
After reading the Post’s piece, we went on the hunt for photo evidence of this so-called Brinkley-Karan gaffe, but before we got very far, we noticed that all the images of Karan had one thing in common: a soft, luxurious-looking, jersey-knit wrap dress in varying shades of grey, beige, and black.
We were selective with our image choices, but suffice it to say, Karan has worn a color variation of this dress no less than ten times in the last two months. Better yet — she’s been wearing it with the same pair of grecian sandals, albiet in either grey or brown.
The dress is part of Karan’s Urban Zen Spring 2010 collection and is convertible — which explains how Karan has gotten away with wearing it so unabashedly and consistently. Adjusting a sleeve here, throwing on a chunky wooden necklace there, and voila: it’s a new look every time.
We have to say it: we think she’s a genius. But what say you?
this is some kind of spaceship or something.
