Like Beyoncé, we’re not shy about our distaste for Photoshop abuse. We live in the day and age where media thrives on women who are stunning IRL — only to morph them into flawless, super human versions of themselves. It’s common knowledge that blemishes, pores, wrinkles, and cellulite simply don’t exist in magazine utopia.
Call us old-fashioned, but we’re big fans of the old ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ adage. We also happen to not be fans of clones, which is why we’re confused as to why all the same ‘fixes’ are being applied to different women. Why is Vogue putting Kate Winslet on their cover only to correct and enhance her to the point where she’s unrecognizable?
We have a new theory: If things continue the way they’re going, the model will become obsolete. Okay, that’s an exaggeration — there can only ever be one Kate Moss — but after viewing the gifs below on repeat, we’re fearful that the glossy pages of our favorite magazines are going to be overrun with identical models exhibiting more mutated proportions than Barbie. Watch below as a beautiful, curvy woman is nipped, tucked, bronzed, and completely destroyed to perfection at the hands of Photoshop.
