CONFIRMED: Naomi Campbell Will Testify In War Crimes Trial

For the past few weeks, we’ve been waiting to hear whether or not Naomi Campbell would testify in the trial of former Liberian president Charles Taylor, who’s accused of funding rebel soldiers in Sierra Leone’s civil war. He’s said to have been given so-called blood diamonds in return for his support, which of course, he vehemently denies.

Campbell is said to have been given one of those diamonds at a dinner in South Africa. She’s refused to talk about it, sometimes violently — even Oprah couldn’t get it out of her. Last month she was summoned to testify, and earlier today HuffPo Style confirmed that Campbell will take the stand.

“The Outside Organization, a public relations company that represents Campbell, announced on Friday that Campbell would testify. Her appearance is scheduled for July 29.”

We’ve said before that this case smelled of Campbell trying to hide something, and we’re anxiously waiting for the truth to come out.
